I have a dear friend (who hopefully doesn't read my blog) that is Jewish, and I wanted to try my hand at making her a card for Rosh Hashanah this week. I did a very small amount of research and saw that a tradition is eating apples dipped in honey, and a lot of cards I found on the internet had apples on them.
I got the idea for the placement of the three apples from Susan Goetter's OLW-91 Thank You card. I colored them with Copics (R14, R24, R29, R89, Y32 for the apples, YG97, YG99 and YG06 for the leaves).
Stamps: PTI Mazel Tov, Flourishes Apple of My Eye
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copics (listed above)
Technique: Masking
I hope she likes it!!

Baby Shower Items
I made a number of items for my friend's Baby Shower at work today.
Here were the favors for the shower, I made them using a template I bought from the Silhouette Online store and cut using my template. The paper is October Afternoon Ducks in a Row, Splish-Splash and Peek-a-Boo; the ribbon is from Michaels.
I have a ton of mailboxes from the Target dollar spot, so I used the same paper and the PTI Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set, as well as Pool Party ruffled ribbon from Stampin Up! and copics to color the duck, to cover the box and hold the gift card. I used Emily Giovanni's tutorial.
I made the gift card to put inside the mail box using Diana Carr's tutorial, using Pool Party cardstock, Postage Stamp punch, and 1 inch square punch from Stampin Up;!, as well as the PTI Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set and copics to color the duck image.
The final piece (yes, there is an end!) is the card, which I made using Becky Jensen's tutorial. I used the October Afternoon DSP, PTI Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set, Whisper White CS, and 1 3/4 inch circle and scalloped circle punches.
The party was a success! Thanks for looking.

I turned my friend's shoe into a card!
My friend wore these fantastic shoes to work today, and the minute I saw them, I thought "I could make a card of that!". I told her that, and took a picture of her shoe, promising to bring her the card the next day.
Here is her shoe:
Here is my card:
I think it's a pretty good try!
Paper: True Black, Poppy Red, Summer Sunshine, Orange Zest
Ink: Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, 3/4 inch circle punch, diagonal scoring board, True Black button, corner rounder.
I hope she likes it :)

Halloween Wedding
My friend Stacey is getting married on Oct 31.; I was honored to have her ask me to create her invitations. I only had to make ten, but I had a lot of fun. The best part was that I didn't CASE the design -- I created it on my own, even the idea of using a gatefold design! I didn't know I had it in me.
At first her fiancee said that he wanted Jack O'Lanterns and leaves, but he switched it to bats against a gray background. I only had two papers that fit this criteria, we chose the one from the Spook Alley -- the only thing I don't like is the distressed look, if you don't know better it looks like I messed up the paper.
Here is the front of the card. I made the bats using the edge punch part of the Martha Stewart Around the Page bats set.
This is the inside of the card. I was glad that she only needed ten cards, because I was SO sick of that bat punch by the time I was done!! I had to redo the inside a few times because I decided I wanted to emboss the martini glass and I messed up the city.
She really likes them!
Supplies:
Stamps: Halloween Party by Impression Obsession (You're invited, martini glass); Inkadinkadoo (the bats on the inside)
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, MM Spook Alley DSP
Accessories: PTI Mat Stack 2, AC Moore $1 classy red pearls, Michaels grosgrain ribbon, Martha Stewart around the page Bats (corner punch and edger).

In Memory of Jan
I've mentioned in a few posts below that I made cards for my friend, Jan, who has cancer and crocheted blankets for cancer survivors. Jan lost her fight with cancer on Monday morning.
Jan was in the hospital for five weeks, she was released for one day and then went back into the hospital for two weeks. On that one day, I made and gave her candy flowers and a card to cheer her up; she loved pink, so the card and the flowers were both pink.
I CASE'd this card from someone, either on a blog or on Splitcoast, but I can't remember where, I'm sorry!
Supplies:
Stamps -- PTI Friendship Jar, PTI Friendship Jar Fillers
Paper -- Whisper White, Regal Rose, Glorious Green, So Saffron
Tools -- Round Tab punch, Scalloped Border punch
I bought the flower pot at Michael's, painted it white with acrylic paint, then glued a styrofoam ball into the bottom and stuck the candy flowers (which we made using a mold and candy melts) into the ball. I used easter grass for the "grass", and I glued a ribbon around the pot.
I will miss her very much. She was a wonderful person, who I will never forget. She was always so positive in the face of everything the doctors told her.
I love you, Jan. RIP.
